Many grant professionals operate as consultants or contracted service providers working with multiple organizations in both the pre-award and post-award phases of the grants lifecycle. Grant contractors provide a vital service to those organization that don’t have the resources to support full-time staff dedicated to grant management.

However, even though the grant professional community consists of a large percentage of freelance consultants, the contractor/client relationship and business model hasn’t been considered during the design and development of grant management systems. We think it’s time to include grant consultants in the equation and, at AFI, our systems and services have been designed with grant consultants in mind.

Affiliate Program

As a grant consultant, you have first hand knowledge of how your client organizations operate – their challenges and their strengths, and where they need to adjust their practices to ensure greater success. The AFI Affiliate Program provides grant professionals the opportunity to help improve their client’s grant operations and to enjoy some personal benefit as well.

If you work with municipalities, non-profits, school districts, health care providers or other grant-active organizations and you believe they would benefit from the GrantNavigator system, AFI will work with you and your client to get them subscribed to GrantNavigator.

AFI offers affiliates extremely competitive referral commissions on every subscription they help secure. To be eligible, you must have an active referral agreement in place with AFI. Virtual Coordinator Program

The AFI Virtual Coordinator Program goes beyond the traditional affiliate relationship and offers grant consultants the opportunity to use GrantNavigator to help manage their clients’ grant programs. For many, this will significantly expand the variety of services they can offer their clients. And, since GrantNavigator is web-based, and can be operated remotely, AFI Virtual Coordinators have the tools they need to work with clients outside their usual geographic restrictions. Larger funding streams and improved operational efficiencies at a direct savings for the client organization; new service offerings, new opportunities to serve a broader range of clients all resulting in new revenue streams and stronger client relationships for the consultant.
