AFI Technical Assistance Grant

AFI is pleased to announce the American Funding Innovators Technology Assistance Grant (TAG) program. In keeping with our core principles, the purpose of the TAG program is to provide local governments and non-profit organizations access to AFI products..

The goals of the program are to provide recipient organizations with:

  • a simple but powerful platform for centralization and standardization of grant management activities across the organization
  • the tools to improve their efficiencies and success rate in pursuing Federal funding
  • a forum for ongoing collaboration with AFI through periodic surveys and focus group activities

What is the AFI TAG?
AFI is pleased to support the grant recipient community with donations of annual subscriptions to our GrantNavigator SE grant management solution. This program is designed to provide local governments and non-profits struggling with the challenges of decentralization, lack of standardized policies and procedures, or limited capacity with the tools necessary to build an effective and efficient grant research and grant management operation. As a part of our dedication to ensuring our products and services meet the needs of our clients, AFI has designed the TAG program to help communities gain access to our tools and to provide us with a direct link to our end users. The TAG program gives our awarded community partners the ability to directly influence the future development of our grant management products.

Who May Apply?
Eligible applicants include:

  • counties
  • cities and townships
  • tribal governments
  • non-profits organized under 501©(3)

What is included?
Under the program, the grant recipient will be provided a one (1) year subscription to GrantNavigator SE as follows:

  • up to 20 user licenses
  • unlimited grants managed
  • TAG recipient orientation
  • one-time online training for all users
  • access to monthly online user forums
  • unlimited phone and email technical support

Program Requirements:
All users within the awarded organization must be willing to participate in brief periodic surveys (not to exceed quarterly) regarding usage and usability. The awarded organization will designate a primary point of contact to act as liaison between AFI staff and the organization.

How to Apply:
Download and complete the full application for the AFI TAG. Completed applications should be sent, via email to tag_submissions@afisystems.com (use this email address only, which is different than the address used for inquiries) or via fax to 800-580-7146. The deadline for the FY2010 TAG program is 5:00 p.m. PST, October 29th, 2010. All applications received prior to the deadline will receive a confirmation email certifying our receipt of the application. If an application is submitted without being fully completed, AFI reserves the right to request clarification / completion within a designated time-frame, or reject the application in its entirety. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be opened nor acknowledged. Should you have any questions, please submit them via email to tag_faq@afisystems.com. Questions will typically be answered and posted on the TAG FAQ page (www.afisystems.com/TAG_FAQ.html) as they become available.

Selection and notification process for all programs:
Because AFI has a limited amount of subscriptions to donate, selection may be based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to: geographic distribution, entity hardship and entity grant history. Priority will be given to those organizations able to demonstrate a commitment to adoption of the GrantNavigator platform and to collaborate with AFI staff to effect positive change within their grants operation. All applicants will be notified directly to confirm whether they have been selected to receive a donation. Notifications are typically sent out within 30 days following the submission deadlines (listed above).
